The 10 Year Plan
By angel_eyes_626us, Thursday, August 26, 2010, 2 commentsMy husband and I have stayed up late many nights discussing our plans for the future. We have come up with the 10 year plan.
Step one dictates that we buy a home. A starter home. It doesn't have to be a home we love. It doesn't have to have all the things we want (like a 3 car garage, RV parking, and a bathtub big enough for three). All it has to be is a home that we will be in for about 2 years while we squirrel away as much money as we can for step two.
Step two dictates that we buy another home. We buy the home that we really want. A 4 bedroom, 3 car garage, huge master bath, home that we can call home. We rent out the fist one and continue to squirrel away as much money as possible.
Step three dictates the investment of money into rental properties. This will continue untill we have reached year 10.
Step four occurs in year 10. We sell off the properties, all but our favorite, and retire. We move to Mexico City, buy a nice home in a beautiful community, and enjoy eachother. We people watch outside of a local bakery while sipping our coffee and eating sweet bread. We climb the pyramids hand in hand and enjoy the beauty. Grandkids come and spend summers with us. We start our own business, finding our own niche in the community.
Year 10 is where we start the rest of our lives.

Sounds like a great plan to
Sounds like a great plan to me! :-)
Sometimes I think about all
Sometimes I think about all the plans we stay up late to talk about. We get into detail as we talk about it. So much so that when I think about them it seems as if they are memories. I'm starting to suspect that in the end, whether we follow through on our plans or not, I'll still have the memories ;)
