Cain He Do It?

If any of you have read my bio, then you know I'm a pretty staunch Conservative on the political wheel of life.   I don't agree with entitlements, sharing the wealth, not working for what you have, or an overall sense of irresponsibility which seems to plague our nation.   I'm not an Obama supporter, but I will concede this, the poor man did inherit an economy that was already spiraling downward to near Great Depression proportions.   However, our trusted leader, while being faced with an epic budget deficit and jobs market already looking gloomy, has not managed to even so much as stop the bleeding.   I'm not asking for him to be able to turn it around in four years, but at least get a tourniquet on it!

This weekend, while watching Meet the Press, I learned a little bit more about one of the Republican front runners, Herman Cain.   First off, I will admit that I don't know a LOT about him, nor do I know a lot about any of the individuals running, but so far what I've been able to discern about Mr. Cain's character and his ability to run this country, it's pushing me more towards voting for him as opposed to any other candidate, Democratic or Republican.

I've said this for quite some time and unfortunately, I appear to be in the minority, as most people do not agree with me on this point, in that our country should be treated as a business.  After all, that's pretty much what it is.   My frustration with our political spectrometer, is that there are too many individuals who have been elected into office that can't even so much as a balance their own checkbooks!   These individuals grew up with entitlements and zero sense of self-responsibility from the moment they were able to open their mouths and accept their silver spoons.   We need to have individuals representing us who have been in our hard working shoes, who have learned not to take things for granted, and have some ability to at least understand that if you don't have the money for something, then don't buy it.

I'm not wasting my time on a blog about Herman Cain, but I would like to at least put this thought into everyone's minds.   The biggest issue we have right now is a huge budget deficit, a national debt of epic proportions that has managed to lower our credit rating, and jobs that just aren't there.   Shouldn't we all take a look at a candidate that has managed to run his own business, starting from the ground floor and moving up?   Shouldn't we consider someone with more of a common sense approach to things?   Shouldn't we consider someone who knows what it's like to carry the weight of so many others on his shoulders?   What better person than one who has been a business owner in the past?

Whichever side of the political party you may be on, I hope that you all at least take some time to learn the candidates and don't just vote for the mainstream.   I'm not decisive on Herman Cain at this point, but so far I'm appreciating his point of view.   It's a lot more refreshing than what I've seen so far.

Cain He Do It?

Amy - You've taken the words

Amy - You've taken the words right out of my mouth. I'm not sure I can trust Cain or Romney or even Perry just yet, but it is SO refreshing to finally have a couple candidates who are businessmen. "Being political" is half this problem's country. We focus too much on the left and right and forget to simply balance our checkbook. Our country is in zero position to hire a President who can't get our spending/debt under control. We need a reality check and it's not going to happen until tough decisions are made.

What's even more refreshing is, I actually understand the 999 plan :)
