Pimp Your Blog, Part I

Has your blog traffic been on a rollercoaster? Wishing you could make your blog visitors as sticky as cotton candy on a hot day?  Does your blog promotion strategy feel like a House of Mirrors?

Okay that’s enough.  Today we’re gonna talk about BlogCarnival.com, a veritable 3-ring circus of blog promotion.  Bet you didn’t see it coming. 

Blog Carnival is a set of tools to create the equivalent of a blog magazine around a particular topic.  As a blogger, you can contribute your own blog posts to these festive affairs, or you can start your own blog carnival on a particular topic and invite others to contribute.

What’s really a lot of fun is to search Blog Carnival for, well, blog carnivals on particular topics.  Let’s say that you’re PMS’ing like BCBlogger, or you’re a stay-at-home mom like Mommyfesto, or you’re having dreams about your grandpa like Kelly, you can search for any of these ideas on Blog Carnival and find a carnival specifically about it. 

Like, let’s try searching for “PMS.” Hmmm....whoa.  Nothing.  Hey!  An opportunity!  You could be the first to start a PMS blog carnival!  But mommying?  A million carnivals.  (Something wrong there....shouldn’t there at least be a balance?) 

How about if you’re planning a wedding like skirt!setter BostonSass?  Then you could use Blog Carnival to find custom anime wedding invites and cool places to get married in the voice of a blogger like you.
