My Intuition Blog Experiment: Touching a Tree in a Dream

It's Week 49, Day 1 of my blog experiment and it's funny how quickly this whole blog project feels like it's winding down. It feels different to come to the computer to write and I'm drawn in different directions...still to write, but to write other things. Having said that, there are some things that still need to be said, strings to tie. So, I might spill into Februrary, even though my one year of blogging is officially up in three weeks.

There is one thing I want to mention today, though. It's about something that has never happened to me before. Last night, I was dreaming a ton. There were three distinct settings and scenarios (a lot for one night!). But, one was so vivid, it's worth explaining. I was walking in what would best be described as a meadow. There were trees but they were surrounded by grass and it was hilly. It was not a forest. And, there were several adorable houses in this meadow, plunked down right in the grass, in this hilly terrain. It was a neighborhood of sorts, a very country neighborhood. But, there were no sidewalks. It was a bit like the kind of  neighborhood you see in fairy tales (think fairy cottages in the woods) but it was in the sunshine, not under a canopy of trees. Anyway, I've dreamed of a setting similar to this many times before but it's always a little different. My guess is I dream about it because it reminds me of the terrain in Maryland and Pennsylvania, where there are lots of houses on rolling hillsides, with yards dotted with trees on the slopes, especially along the state roads.

But, this time, in this dream, I actually walked up to a tree, touched it, and felt it. It was crazy! Sure, I've heard of lucid dreams, but is this what they feel like? You can actually touch objects, beyond just being aware of what's around you and that you're in a dream state? It was brand new to me. And, it makes me wonder...how do you know what's real and what's not?
