My work: I wear many hats as the Development Director for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. Mainly, I am responsible for doing all things related to raising funds to support the work of the Food Bank: grant writing, event planning, marketing, and donor management.
My passion: In the fall, it is definitely Georgia Football, but I also have a passion for working with children and families, and spending time with good friends.
My favorite possession: My photos: they hold thousand of memories of many special people and the things we have done together.
My best bargain find: I guess I would sayit is a refrigerator that my mother-in-law and I bought at an estate sale for $25. Ten years later it is still working at the rental house my husband and I own.
I can’t live without: My coffee in the morning, my coca-cola in the afternoon and my friends I have had since high school.
I am most proud of: My degree from the University of Georgia. I worked to put myself through school and it only took 4.5 years.
I’m inspired by: People the good and the bad: the good make me want to do better and the bad make me want to do my best.
If I could be totally wild, I would: Quit my job and tour the country attending rock concerts. Nothing is better than some good music and some good fun. First on my list AC\DC!
The most important thing I ever lost: The diamond from the ring that was my grandmothers and then my mothers. After 4 hours of searching, I found it in my purse right where my husband said it would be.
What are you most vain about? I would definitely say my hair: I am embarrassed to say I’ve stayed at home before because I didn’t think it looked right.
I feel strongest when: I’ve accomplished things by myself.
When I grow up, I want to be: I am still trying to decide. I really like what I do now, so maybe the Development Director for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.
Always... make sure that those that matter know it.
