By Chris.Kuhn, Sunday, August 1, 2010My work: By day, I am an account director at Common Language (http://www.common-language.com), a boutique public relations firm in St. Petersburg At night, I moonlight as a food blogger and writer as Tampa Food Examiner (http://www.examiner.com/x-53772-Tampa-Food-Examiner).
My pride and joy: My little family – husband and dog-child, Lily
Best thing I ever purchased: My standing KitchenAid Mixer.
I cannot live without: Coffee in the morning.
My hometown: Tampa.
I’m thinking about: How to sound impressive in this questionnaire so I don’t embarrass myself.
Words I live by: It all works out in the end.
I never thought I would: Enjoy cooking so much.
What inspires me: Proving people wrong.
What really ticks me off: Bad drivers.
If I could be totally wild, I would: Drop everything and move to Italy or Greece. I guess that isn’t too wild, but it’s the best I can do.
I am guilty of: Cursing too much.
Right now I’m reading: Two books – My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler (she is hilarious) and this month’s book club pick – Heart of the Matter by Emily Griffin. I read a lot of Chick Lit, but it’s how I escape.
The one encounter or experience that changed my life: When my husband (then-boyfriend) was in the Marines. We made it through four years apart, sometimes oceans between us and up to six months between visits. I think a situation like that says a lot about who we are and our relationship. In the end though, it brought us closer together and I think we appreciate each other more.
Favorite website/blog: Facebook, and my blog of course.
Last major purchase: My laptop.
Greatest compliment you could give me: This tastes really good.
My theme song: “Love Shack.” It can always get me on the dance floor, no matter what.
If I could go back in time, I would: I would go back to my years in college and enjoy them more. I worked so much that I don’t feel like a got the full college experience.
The food that brings me back to my childhood: My mom used to always make things like beef stroganoff and Hungarian goulash, which I hated back then, but now I love them and make them myself.
Best meal I ever ordered and where: There are so many, but most memorable would be the night at Armani’s when my husband proposed.
If I could have any super power, it would be: Flying, the freedom that I could go anywhere, whenever is very intriguing to me.
My blog: A Modern Housewife (http://amodernhousewife.blogspot.com).
The most important thing I ever lost: My self-confidence.
The most important thing I ever found: My self-confidence.
Best thing I ever heard: I now pronounce you husband and wife.
I still can’t get the hang of: Being comfortable when someone compliments me. It always makes me blush.
One thing I wish I’d known then that I know now: I wish I had known when I bought my house that the housing market was going to continue on its downward spiral. Had I known that I might have waited a little longer to become a homeowner, but what are you going to do?
I’d like to learn to: Speak another language.
Something most people don’t know about me: I worry a lot, about everything.
My mother always said: I love you.
Best idea I ever had: Starting my blog.
My first job: Cici’s Pizza. It only lasted a couple months.
Who would you love to clink glasses and gab with over dinner (alive, dead, real or fictional)? Audrey Hepburn.
I feel charged up when: I accomplish a goal.
When I grow up, I want to: Own a bakery.
At the end of a long day, the first thing I want to do is: Eat a really good meal.
Don’t forget to… Laugh every chance you get.
Always… Love.
Never... Take yourself too seriously.
